Stuart joined Euroforest as a Trainee Manager in 2009 and is now the General Manager in the Stirling Office.
Prior to joining Euroforest, Stuart achieved a BSc (Hons) in Forest Management at the University of Aberdeen where he was an active member of Aberdeen Forestry Society. Stuart realised his passion for forestry during his studies when he worked for a small-scale private forest management company. On his gap year, Stuart went to work with the Forestry Commission where he gained valuable experience whilst working in woodland establishment and deer management. Stuart spent time away from the forestry sector when living in New Zealand for four years, driving a commercial Jetboat, but on his return to the UK was drawn to the opportunity to join Euroforest in an entry level position which few harvesting and marketing companies were offering.
Stuart is now responsible for two Area Managers and a Trainee Manager who he oversees daily, ensuring they are both compliant with Euroforest’s systems of work whilst also fulfilling the wants and needs of both clients and customers, and updating them on operations. Over the past decade, Stuart has also been heavily involved in several large onshore windfarm projects for which he has delivered the full range of windfarm associated harvesting services from initial keyhole site investigation works to full clearfell for multi-turbine sites. He has taken great pride in delivering often complex and challenging works in tight timescales and within budget.
If you wish to contact Stuart to discuss any aspects of timber harvesting or windfarm development, please contact him on the details above.
