As part of our bespoke timber harvesting & marketing service, we also specialise in all aspects of forest road planning, maintenance, and construction. Through our network of experienced managers and trusted contractors we can offer the forest owner a truly unique and impartial service from the outset.

An initial brief from the forest owner in terms of where an intended road route is planned would first be ground truthed by one of our managers. Principally this initial site meeting is to determine the feasibility of the route in relation to the site-specific conditions.

Other key factors such as suitable stone sources, the quality of the stone, does the route fit in with the wider forest felling plan, and many others, are all considered to produce an initial report to the landowner. Once these have been discussed and agreed a more formal quotation is produced giving the landowner a clear picture of the build and any maintenance costs involved. If these are accepted, Euroforest take care of all the required planning and prior notification procedures along with the management of onsite health and safety for the duration of the project. This will often involve liaising with SEPA, Scottish Forestry, Local Authorities and other stakeholders to ensure the project complies with industry best practice in addition to Environmental and Health & safety law.
