After a lengthy planning process, roadworks are nearing completion for Euroforest Ltd, ahead of clearfell with Blacklock Harvesting.
The site in Perthshire has been almost 12 months in planning and required detailed consultations with multiple stakeholders taking into consideration the high levels of public access in and around the forest due to walking and cycling trails using much of the internal forest road network.
Euroforest began the operation by locating suitable stone within the property; the stone was tested to determine its strength and suitability. A reliable local roading contractor was engaged to prepare the 3km road upgrade, undertake an 18K tonne stone blasting/crushing programme with all elements supervised by Euroforest.
Euroforest have worked with the forest owner and their agent to ensure the site has been well planned, is fully compliant, and suitable for future forestry operations.
