ABOUT US

All woods and forests share a common need for management to maximise a wide range of benefits that will benefit the woodland ecosystem for decades or even centuries

Pryor & Rickett Silviculture

Established in 1987, Pryor & Rickett Silviculture offer services such as forest management, woodland creation and timber marketing.  With over thirty years’ experience they are dedicated to working closely with landowners and their teams to manage woodlands and forests of all sizes and types.  In 2016 The Euroforest Group acquired a controlling interest in Pryor & Rickett.

Pryor & Rickett serve a wide geographical area with ten offices situated across England, Scotland, and Wales giving them UK wide coverage.  The team of chartered Foresters and Woodland consultants manage over 35,000 hectares of woodland throughout the UK. The properties managed by Pryor & Rickett are remarkably diverse, ranging from species rich ancient broadleaved woods to extensive conifer plantations.  They offer these services to all woodland owners, from small farm woodlands to large private estates, and corporate investors.

The process of woodland management is a specialist skill that requires technical knowledge and experience, as well as expertise in interfacing with the regulatory bodies if the owners’ objectives are to be realised. The specialist team at Pryor & Rickett offer a wide range of services from woodland management, certification, conservation, habitat, pest control, and sporting management.

Pryor & Rickett work closely with existing and prospective investors on the acquisition of land and woodlands to achieve a range of investment outcomes.  They offer services such as timber measurement, stratification, and quality assessments to enable an overall timber or property valuation to help clients successfully build or add to their forestry portfolios.

For those seeking to manage their woodland asset themselves with only occasional professional input, Pryor & Rickett offer tailored consulting service.  This includes ad hoc professional advice, a retained consultant role, providing expert witness to clients who need help resolving difficult forestry issues, assisting in applications for wind energy projects, and ensuring best practice in relation to tree safety. Pryor & Rickett’s role within the carbon market continues to expand with increased planting and woodland creation.
