Ian Bromley, Area Manager harvesting on site infected by ips typographus
Ian Bromley, Area Manager for Kent & Sussex shared this on his personal linked In. For those not following Ian, he is currently undertaking work on a site infected by the notifiable pest, ips typographus, and has taken some great photos on site which you can see below.
“Working is progressing well on a spruce site in East Sussex that is being clear felled due to ips typographus. The requirements of the SPHN served on this site mean winter working is necessary and therefore, to protect the ground and keep the job on track, regular brash mat maintenance is crucial – carried out here by Diran Hollingsbee of RAC Forestry.”
