Euroforest have successfully completed two Ash Dieback removal projects. These were carried out in Catterick, North Yorkshire and Warcop, Cumbria for an important client.
The two projects involved the mechanised removal of ashtrees infected with ash dieback (Stage-3 and above). Works centred around stretches of very busy highways and public rights of way where there was a high risk to the general public. All highway works were completed within road closures with Site Safety Supervisor’s present.
During the two projects Delta Simmons completed ecological surveys from a MEWP to ensure Euroforest remained compliant with all wildlife legislation through-out. Condemned trees following inspections were dismantled and removed within 24 hours. Although, the two sites were complex, Euroforest (Principal Contractor) and the following sub-contractors adjusted to their environments and made safe and efficient decisions to allow the safe removal of all infected trees. Trees were mechanically dismantled with the use of various machines - Merlos, Menzi Muck and Excavators (with several different attachments for the efficient and safe dismantling of dangerous trees) and, last but not least, the monster UFKES chipper.
