Cameron had a keen interest in conservation from a young age and when leaving school, studying forestry seemed a natural choice. Cameron attended the School of Forestry at the University of the Highlands and Islands where he obtained a BSc in Forestry. As part of his degree, Cameron spent a year in North Yorkshire as a mid-year placement student, gaining experience on multi-land use activities including forestry. After graduating, Cameron worked at a clay pigeon shooting ground for over a decade, firstly as a groundkeeper, before becoming a shooting instructor where he built strong relationships with the varied clientele.
Cameron went on to join a private forestry company as a Trainee Woodland Manager before progressing to Woodland Manager, where he gained experience in undertaking large-scale new planting schemes, fencing, and woodland management. Cameron joined Euroforest in 2011 as an Area Manager in Northeast Scotland. He was particularly drawn to the position as it allowed him to move back to where he grew up, which worked out well as it is where he eventually met his wife. Cameron is responsible for timber purchasing, both standing and roadside, and managing all aspects of worksite management from challenging and remote timber harvesting sites to forest road construction and maintenance.
Cameron continues to have a passion for forestry and particularly enjoys working in remote areas with varying landscapes. If you wish to contact Cameron to discuss any aspects of timber harvesting within his area, please contact him on the details above.
